Venue: Heywood Sports Village until February 2017.

Objects from the Museum Collection tell the story of what it was like to go to school in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. In the past school was not always compulsory to attend and children learned to read, write and count at either Sunday Schools or Dame Schools.

The display includes a Victorian school desk, games and a teaching box crammed full of interesting items that was used to teach and inspire pupils about the wonders of the world.
