Ninety day fitness plan is one just for the girls
- 19 September 2014
'Ninety days for only £19.50' is the invitation going out to young woman in the borough aged 16-25 to take advantage of fitness facilities at Link4Life centres boroughwide from October.
It is all part of a £56 million national programme called Sportivate designed to give more young people the chance to discover a sport that they love. The programme gives young people, who are not particularly sporty, free or subsidised access to a range of sports.
Link4Life Sportivate Co-ordinator Scott Hardy announcing 'The 90 Day Workout' said, "In partnership with Link4Life Fitness we have developed this great offer that aims to get young women into regular exercise. For just over 20p a day it offers gym, classes and swimming."
The 90 Day Workout is available seven days a week, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and any time at weekends. Contact your local participating Link4Life Fitness centre at Rochdale Leisure Centre (01706 924200), Littleborough Sports Centre (01706 927560), Middleton Arena (01706 923170) and Heywood Sports Village (01706 927202) for further details.
Sportivate launched in June 2011 as a four-year programme aimed at 11-25 year-olds but, due to its success, additional Lottery funding of £10m per year has been invested allowing the programme to run until March 2017. The Sportivate programme in the Rochdale Borough is organised by Link4Life in collaboration with Greater Sport and Sport England.
