The Borough's collections and exhibitions have inspired the educational workshops and resources on offer from the Link4Life Arts & Heritage Service. Developed in partnership with our team of expert facilitators, staff and partner organisations including local schools, discover for yourself the exciting range of cultural learning opportunities available to support the delivery of the curriculum.

We continue to drive up standards to offer you an enjoyable and rewarding value-for-money education service to complement your teaching. Together we will help you provide your pupils with a fun cultural education that will reqward them with the knowledge and skills from which they will draw tremendous inspiration and benefit in their classroom studies and for the rest of their life too.

Link4Life provides a wide range of services that are available to schools and colleges. Our aim is to encourage children and young people to lead physically and mentally active and challenging lives. As a local organisation, and one that trades ethically and not for profit, we work with many different partners to help achieve this, both within our own Link4Life centres and at other venues within the community.

We provide a child with many of their first experiences – a trip to the swimming pool, visit to the museum, experience of live theatre and of competitive sport. In later years this may be followed by exam success, volunteer or work experience and future employment.

"The children aged seven who are too afraid to go to the swimming baths are the ones who, aged 17, leave education because they won't go out of the neighbourhood to go to the college."  Primary Headteacher ' Aspirations & Attainment of Young People in Deprived Communities' 2008.

When working with Link4Life you can be sure of a safe, friendly and efficient experience.

  • The Go4it Programme is managed by a professional and experienced team of specialists in their field. All of our coaches, facilitators and instructors are appropriately qualified and trained. Everyone working with children and young people has enhanced CRB clearance and staff recruitment is based on safeguarding best practice.
  • All Link4Life activities have third party insurance and adhere to clear health and safety regulations. Our Adventure Activities programme is regulated by the Adventure Activities Licensing Service (AALS) which includes regular annual inspections.
  • Link4Life provides a wide range of services that are supplied on a 'choose to buy' basis. These include outdoor activities, educational visits to Touchstones Rochdale, visits to shows, one-off school-based competitions or hire of facilities.

For each of these services you will receive a written quotation for every booking that you make and you will be asked to accept this quotation before work commences. Terms of payment will be provided at the time of making the booking. Invoices will be sent to you via email and payment can be made via BACS transfer.

Where services are provided on an on-going basis, for example swimming services or sports coaching, then a service level agreement will also be agreed with you. You will be given a named person within Link4Life who will remain your primary contact should you have any questions or issues of concern.

The Education Team, based at Touchstones Rochdale strive to create opportunities for all ages and all backgrounds to engage and learn about arts and heritage.

Touchstones has its own Education Studio and dedicated team of facilitators to deliver off the shelf and bespoke sessions to school groups, clubs, societies or any other interested party.
